No design is ever complete, it is even more true with blog designs. It is rather a continual process of improvement that we must invest our energy into, especially if our desire is to maximize the return we get on a blog design.
A lot of people think that a blog design solution involves getting a completely new design done by a professional, but that is not the case. While that would be the easiest solution, it actually might not be the best solution. Because it is hard to find a blog designer that can take your ideas and concepts and turn it into the blog of your dreams that work just as good at the same time. That and the other reason is that for most people they do not have the money to pay for a professional design. The other solution then is to take an existing blog design and redesign it by making small changes in the right area until it works for you.
These small changes when applied to every single part of the blog can produce amazing results with little time and no money invested. In order to make the right changes, the right questions have to be asked about the exisiting design and only then can the redesign process begin.
- What is the goal of the redesign?
- What aspect do you want to improve?
- How will you measure if your redesign is successful or not?
- What is unnecessary in your blog design?
- What can you add that will make it better?
- What is wrong with the current blog design?
- What is good with the current blog design?
- What problems are your users experiencing with the blog design?
- What compliments are you receiving about your blog design?
- How can you improve your blog design?

Good checklist of questions to use as diagnostic checkup for a blog. Although I agree with the no money involved for doing these, it does take time. What are your thoughts on when a small company should outsource its site design, and even online promotion?
